Safety information - body repairs
WARNING
Gases/vapours hazardous to health are generated when
welding, soldering or cutting using tools which produce sparks
in foam-treated areas.
- Do not weld, solder or cut closer than 15 mm to moulded
foam inserts.
- Use an extraction system during work.

- Use local exhaust ventilation when performing welding and
grinding work.
- Clean exhaust extraction system at regular intervals.
- Do not carry out welding and grinding processes in same
room at same time.
- Remove dust regularly from work areas.
- Do not blow off dust deposits with compressed air.
- Observe the respective country-specific accident prevention
and health and safety regulations.
The following body repairs require the
HV electrical system to be de-energised
De-energising the high-voltage system is carried out exclusively
by means of "Guided Fault Finding", see chapter on De-energising
high-voltage system ⇒ Electric drive rear-wheel drive
EIP220 and all-wheel drive EIA200, EIP220; Rep. gr. 93; Deenergising
high-voltage system.
- A high-voltage technician must de-energise the system prior
to welding, grinding and cutting work in the vicinity of highvoltage
components.
- A high-voltage technician must de-energise the system prior
to body work with the alignment jig.
- De-energisation measures may only be carried out by electrically
instructed persons.

When the high-voltage battery is removed,
observe the following:
- When the high-voltage battery is removed, avoid contact
with the vehicle floor.
